Mythic+ Mondays / Thursdays

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Monday seems to be the best bet for mythics so we're just going to make a day of it. If you want an m+ please be online on Mondays. I'm aiming to be online around 7.30

We're aiming to get as many people keys as they can, especially for people who haven't really done much m+. However we'd still like focus on trying to push keys higher.

TL; DR - be online on Mondays for m+

Meeting up with a couple of people from my last job after work for drinks, so I probably won't make the first dungeon run but hopefully I'll be back for the second, I'm sure Todd can keep you updated on my ETA.

Question - does this have to be monday? Or are people who are available monday able to switch to tuesdays? Just idly ruminating

Sarah has violin lessons every other Tuesday plus a few random Tuesdays have football (Aug-May). So it's less reliable for us, though some are fine. It also doesn't leave a backup day.

Tuesday is no different to Monday for me so I don't mind particularly but as Todd says it does remove the emergency backup day

Proposal going forward is to use Thursdays and Mondays for m+. With set groups for each day being allocated on Wednesday once we've seen the keys.

Hopefully this will allow a consistent set of pushing runs each night and allow those not on for m+ that night to do other things without having to keep availability open.

Since you'll know what keys will be available, routes can be planned or forgotten mechanics looked up - allowing for better progress

Also for higher keys we should be bringing consumables, including health potions, as on tyrannical they can save your life given the damage going out

yes, abyssal healing potions are highly underrated - a 170k off-gcd heal! health pots dont even put your dps pots on cd anymore, so theres no need to worry! I carry a few at all times!

Will be available on Monday if there's a second run or spaces need filling in the first run (after everyone who doesn't have a key is invited ofc), I feel like my gear is lagging behind a bit and I know Todd feels somewhat the same and it will impact our progress. Also it would be nice to get more practice in.

Also our cloaks are Rank 9, which probably also doesn't help. Edit: Hopefully Rank 11 soon.

Monday will be focusing on the folks who didn't run Thursday but we'll see what happens after that.

In terms of gear - I'd recommend not stockpiling residuum for the top level pieces until you have a good set of 460s. Also if you can get mask runs of visions going, they drop good gear too with guaranteed corruptions next week

I actually seem to have enough to buy a 475 piece and a 460 piece, I totally forgot this was a thing.

Also we won't be able to do masked runs until we can complete all five things in one run? which we're not quite at yet.

Yeah the 1st mask you can get (the 1/2 Max Sanity one) is only rewarded from a full 5-wing clear. Further masks are obtained by killing Lost Zone bosses while wearing any mask, the new masks rewarded are specific to the boss you kill. So you'd have to kill, say, Mathias Shaw or Magister Umbric with the Long Night mask on, which would each unlock another mask which you could use for other kills.

Sure, yeah. We're not quite at that level yet and so all of the gear we get from doing visions right now is rubbish, but we'll get there eventually with the talents and stuff.

Yes, the +200 San Regen on killing Elites and the Titans proc are far and away the two biggest power spikes you get off that tree.

The trouble with this patch is that statement may not always be true because of how strong certain corruptions are. I've had 445 corrupted pieces out perform 470 uncorrupted more than once. Obviously you have to be able to handle the corruption and the 470 equivalent would be better but lower vision gear may not be rubbish.

The lesson of this patch is basically that you need to sim everything

Yeah, I've been simming every piece I get at this point (including all of the vision runs from this week where we did get gear). Although so far none of the vision gear has given me any corruption gear and it's all been 420, so sims much lower than the 445s I have.

It sounds like it will start to give some corruption gear as of next week though, so maybe some of the lower level gear will be better.

That's fair. The stupid thing about corruptions is that it makes you feel obliged to run lower level content as a single good corruption can be as much as a 5% dps increase. In so many ways this is worse that running LFR and hoping for gear to titanforge up to the heroic equivalent.

Please let me know what keys y'all have tomorrow, and your availability for Thursday/Monday - with a preference if you have one

Key: Mechagon Workshop 13 (nice!), Todd got Freehold 13

Mondays and Thursdays are both free for both of us, so either evening group works and we'll most likely be messagable for the other if numbers fall through or anything as back-up.

In less useful news, the 470 piece I got was boots. Why is this annoying you might ask, well, my current boots are my Rank 2 infinite stars boots and yup, at 445+stars, they sim better than 470+mindflay. Hopefully something more useful comes out of the chest next week.

Edit: If there's any chance to actually do the Workshop 13, that would be great as it's the only source of the bracers for my burst rotation that still sim higher at 420 than any piece I've picked up (including corrupted pieces), there's realistically no other alternative.

I would be mindful of sims on infinite stars. If you’re in a dungeon I would expect the 470 + mind flay to be a large improvement. I like to run the hectic add cleave profile for dungeons, there is also the dungeon slice profile

The reason for the above is stars hits a random target so it doesn’t stack up properly on trash

I would strongly agree with tim here, 470 mindflay is damn good and WAY more reliable than stars, outside of no-add single target raid encounters.. especially in m+ tentacle should shine, that proc alone does what, 30k single target for 10 secs? ive seen up to 3 proc at the same time, crazy stuff.

Hell, the current #1 parse for ST dps in mythic nalotha (doggy) does infact not use stars at all, despite there only being just that one target for the entire fight. it simply has a 475 tentacle with... 100% uptime for 4mins straight.

I sim my gear for both Patchwerk and Dungeon Slice and get WILDLY different results. As such I now have two different gear sets. 1st for ST, 2nd for M+

I've just simmed the 445 boots with stars II and the 470 boots with mind flay II for both Patchwerk AND Dungeon Slice and...

The 445 boots come out better in both cases.

Simming Hectic Add Cleave....

445 still wins.

Hmmm fair enough. That’s not what I expected. Good old Ion with his gear should be obvious expansion.

My blue 420 TD belt remains best in slot for me too
