It can't be done on Normal or above without some level of intelligent communication between raid members since some people get shrunk and have to jump inside little robots and input a series of commands to disable them while only the people who AREN'T in the robots can see what the code patterns are. Kryton Report post Posted June 21, 2019 Loz and I talked about this on Monday night. I honestly feel the "seasonal resets" have killed this expansion for me. I got my Heart to lvl 47 in early April by really maximising the weekly gains. If I'd kept going it would have capped out at the end of April but on Wednesday there will be some mechanic to let a returning player leap forward and catch up in no time. My item level will be similarly trivialised through updated WQs/dungeon rewards at the same time. I'm sure this always happened to some extent but it feels far too prevalent and in your face now. Gragneth Report post Posted June 21, 2019 I was thinking about this some more. 8.0 was flawed but I enjoyed it. However 8.1 felt like a reset you get between expansions not within one. I can't really place my finger on why. Item levels always increase but never has patch made me feel that everything I had worked on that expansion was so pointless. Maybe its Azerite gear and necklace stuff or maybe it was the weird release dates? Don't know but it slowly drained the enthusiasm right out of me. Hope 8.2 will do some interesting things... Buachalla Report post Posted June 21, 2019 Blizzard have said that their major patches are almost like mini expansions, to which they want everyone to be able to dive right in, so they have all these 'catch-up' mechanics and what not. Now, they certainly helped me when I came back for a bit, but I can fully understand how it feels to be someone that hasn't taken such a long break to have someone be almost up on par in less than a week. Considering the amount of 'WoW refugees' we are seeing come to FFXIV, they are really trying to keep people coming back and playing, so making it a lot easier to jump in, but ofc, that has other effects. They've said recently there'll be no catch up or replacements for the new heart essences/powers this expansion, so what you earn now will last you to the end and its not going to get any easier / harder / faster to get. I remember when the internet's moan was how hard it was to gear alts / change character, so its a tricky one since different groups want different things. HOWEVER, if a few ppl are around this evening, we could do a guild mechagon mythic for everyones favourite new heart trait: the vision of perfection. The mythic version of the new 5man is already available, to be released in 2 weeks to the "general public" as 2 seperate heroic instances - think kara.
