Guild Thursdays

I don't know what people want to do on Thursdays for the next few weeks but I would guess it is a mixture of:

  1. farm normal for help those still looking for gear
  2. try to push into heroic
  3. take a break from raids for something else (M+, islands etc)

Personally I will be taking a break from raiding. I'll be around on a Thursday still and happy to do other content but I have no great desire to go back into that raid again. I'm not sure why this is as I like the encounter design and it might just be general WoW fatigue kicking in combined with the distraction of other games.

I'm not too bothered about doing the raid more either. There are a couple of bosses I haven't seen so I might come along for another clear if we choose to do that. And if we're around on Thursdays I'm happy to do other content like M+ or islands. But definitely not interested in farming Normal when the gear is useless and I'm just not really interested in getting into Heroic this expansion. Our nice chilled Normal raids are perfect.

Not that fussed. I've given Heroic a couple of goes in PUGs and the first few bosses at least are almost no different mechanically so I'd be interested in seeing how far we can go with it without getting hardcore about it.

I'd be inclined to do one more normal clear and then if there's enough people who want to take a stab at heroic we can try it.

Otherwise I'm happy to just chill until crucible happens

With just two bosses, even BoT should manage a week 1 clear surely! Tho im a bit worried what happens after that... cant just call it a day for raiding after the first week of a new mini-patch right away, thatd be a bit awkward...

Well we can think about heroics or mythic+ dungeons then :)

Or there's a lot of alts, could do some normals for them

Would like a full clear. Though if I'm in work next week in until 8 ><

Other than that. Literally fresh back, happy to do whatever I can with people. Though honestly, M+ is something I can say I'm not a fan of.

I still prefer trying to do something as a big group with everyone if possible.

There's a chance I might be running late too. The team received some wtf news about the project I'm working on yesterday (I won't explain the details publicly) but people are going for drinks to figure it out and I may join them for one or two.

It'snot a good or bad news thing exactly, just a massive wtf that makes no sense and will make it harder, not easier, to deliver (despite what a certain someone in charge of it might think), so the team needs to strategise a bit, which normally happens best over a couple of beers. :P

This expansion I do get the feeling that normal raiding really is a neglected tier of content. In comparison of effort M+ seems to make normal raids not a good time to reward investment. I know Dave mentioned both his Druid and his Paladin are geared beyond this raid tier now. I think Todd said his iLvl is around ~410-415 mark at this point. I assume most other M+ players are around the same levels on at least one character/spec.

So I was thinking for the future (might even need to be next expansion at this point) that people might want to consider having an M+ character and a Raid character. That way raid content would be more challenging and more rewarding and M+ would still be doable. Obviously this could only apply to people with two or more characters. In addition because we clear on normal it is not like we are doing achievement runs or get any time limited stuff. So people can easily get the minimal compeletion achievements we earn in PuGs or after the expansion very easily.  

The main reason I was thinking this is that the only real reason I re-subbed was to play/raid with everyone. However, sadly, I find M+ the most dreadful of bores. I mean they barely swap things up between seasons! How about moving all the Trash spawns/making you do the instance in reverse/later season swap bosses between dungeons or each week/new boss mechanics/additional bosses/basically anything more than just changing the one themed affix of the season. So raiding is really the only thing holding me to the game at this point. This being irrelevant content to what feels like most people is quite demoralizing.

That's the whole purpose of my shaman now :)

I think achievements and stuff are a good way of keeping it engaging as there's very mixed feelings for heroic

I’m afraid I’m done with the game. Just can’t get myself to log on anymore.

The setting and narrative kept me around longer than I expected, but doing the same old dungeons and raids for little to no reward just doesn’t cut it anymore, despite the awesome people to play with :(
