Is it Division time again?

I am interested in D2 as well so wouldn't mind getting back into Division as well.

There is loads of content i have missed out on.

Happy to play tonight if you're about.

I probably won't reinstall the original at this point but if someone wants to convince me that the sequel doesn't have the same issues as the first one I could be interested in it.

I've started playing with the private beta and I have to say it's great fun. The leveling process in the first one was good but endgame kinda sucked for a long time.

The base of operations is back with new unlocks to build it up but this also happens or other safe houses around Washington so the focus is not entirely on the main base.

No more regenerating health. You now apply armor plates to protect yourself which take a few seconds to apply.

The UI is still not great for a PC game. It feels like everything you want to do takes one or two more clicks than it really should do.

Consider that I have only played a couple of hours and it's from the start so low level only.

They take more to kill than an enemy in an FPS would but that is slightly symptomatic of the genre. For gear upgrades to be meaningful, enemies have to die slowly with low level gear. I have taken on one "boss" enemy at the end of a mission and he did take a good few clips to down but you could see his armor plating being shot off and he went down very fast once it was all gone so didn't feel like he was just soaking hits. I think they got the balance wrong on this in the first one but it does feel better this time.

I can't speak for enemy variety as I've just come up against the usual suspects so far (assault rifle dude, heavy dude, grenade due and suicidal waving a stick dude).

Location wise I can tell from the map that there are some significant terrain differences. NY in D1 was very much about city streets with only a few open areas. This has large parks with long views to contend with.

Overall it feels like they have learnt from the early mistakes from the first one but if you'd played that recently (with all the added content), D2 won't feel that different to where D1 is now.

I enjoyed the levelling game on the first one and end-game was kind of okay in a group but having not bought the season pass I wasn't compelled to do so by the quality of the game without it. Cautiously considering the second one though if we have a group of people who'd want to play.

At the end of the day it's a gear based rpg. Enemies with lots of health are to be expected unless you go Diablo style....

In case anyone is not reading the blurb about the new beta. Once you complete the second story mission, you'll be granted 3 level 30 characters to try out a little end game and specialisation play

Thread name improved, you're welcome. Downloading this shit now. UPlay pushing over 500Mb/s which is better than Steam or EA ever manage.

I was out nearly all weekend so didn't play much of this in the end.

Unlocked my endgame character this time and all I can say is the mission was absolutely nails! They could rip through your armor in seconds. I think our group leader might have set it to hard but we were there for ages making virtually no progress. We'd have never killed the boss.

I got a few hours in yesterday and I do like it. It feels like they've made the enemies less bullet spongey so to compensate they actually do damage. Very buggy in terms of sound and graphics though. I have no problem with minimum requirements, had the game on Medium and it kept having massive amounts of audio, video or load lag and it crashed to desktop constantly.

Strange. My specs are lower and I've not had any glitches or crashes.

Enemies certainly hurt. I felt more vulnerable than in the first game.

It crashed so hard at one point I had to hard reset my PC. Game disappeared, did not exist as a window, but was still in Task Manager - Access Denied when attempting to end the task. Tried to restart my PC and it just froze.

Buy for me.

I played some more this morning. Control points in the open world are nice variety to attack, defend and then hold. Side missions were more varied than the last game that basically copied the same mission repeatedly. They had multiple stages and events within them. Crafting looks more detailed, there are more mats, but I couldn't tell if that was going to be a good or bad point. I like the change to an armor system. You are very very vulnerable once it breaks (downed in 3-4 hits) so cover is critical. AI seems to be quite good at flanking and pushing you to move.

I am definitely getting Div 2. Loved the first game and I have pretty much completed Anthem for now (only, pointless, endless grind remains).

Though I won't be around the first weekend of release as I am taking part in a 24 hour Warframe endurance live stream for charity on the 16-17th. Managed 24 hours on Earth last year, doing 24 hours on Venus this year.

Undecided. I'm interested and the demo seemed pretty good but the question is how much I would play it. Partly depends if Sarah is interested. It's often difficult for us to arrange stuff together in WoW so I'm not sure if this is mostly going to turn into people playing randomly on their own. Whereas I'm primarily interested in doing group content with people I know.
