  1. Speaking of the old graphics card. I am looking at getting a new one sometime soon(tm). My requirements are; Team green, 1080p 60hz, 2 hdmi outputs, more heft and more ram (3gb) than a 780ti.
  2. Substantive content as well I guess. It all comes down to how much appetite there is for no brexit vs no deal. Given that the commons leans remain and how weak both leaders look I wouldn't be shocked for A50 to be revoked ... that may be just my wishful thinking.
  3. 1060 is parallel to the 780ti, but with more ram so if you're looking for similar performance a 1050 will do alright.

“Intel has begun providing software and firmware updates to mitigate these exploits,” Intel said in a statement, denying that fixes would slow down computers based on the company’s chips. “Any performance impacts are workload-dependent, and, for the average computer user, should not be significant and will be mitigated over time.” https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/forums/news/announcements/132642-epic-services-stability-update

    The Last Jedi (Spoilers)

I am salty that the codebreaker wasn't an excuse to revive fett
  6. FYI, the 1070 ti is a questionable purchases. It's more or less a core dropped 1080 with worse ram. While it is more powerful than a base 1070 nvidia are playing silly buggers over it's 3rd party out of the box overclocking. It might be better to jump to a 1080, or save money and go with a overclocked base 1070. I was looking into this a bit the past few days due to the blackest of Fridays. edit: It's not a BAD card, it's just a weird price point and more or less exists entirely to shaft AMD since ryzen is having availability issues
  7. What is happening on Sunday? I have found myself to be in Didcot that day and if there is a place and a time relatively available I might be able to pop in to say hello for an hour or two.

    Steam & General Multiplayer Funzies

Not on steam but general multiplayerness: Fortnite is now out. It is currently money but plan is to go f2p in 2018. I dono how I feel about that as a model but I support the game and Epic so I picked it up. It's decent, has a fair few things that need addressing but they are planning to do so. As it's been in close beta since 2014 and underwent a lot of changes over that time I trust Epic enough to actually put the effort in on this one.

Mostly posting because I find the concept really intriguing and interesting http://store.steampowered.com/app/505460/Foxhole/ The biggest issue is, like anything of this scale, what happens when the players stop turning up.

    The Android Thread

I thought this might cause amusement.
  11. Wait are you telling me you don't want to spend all your capital building an Ethereum mining rig only to lose it all due to some stupid bug?

This is still on my radar, shit just got craycray(fish)
  14. Welp. GG. Might try that. Doing some more research it seems like the new series just have shitty temps. They start throttling at 100c so there's a bit more room than older cpus. The overclocking community seem to suggest that 80 with pings to 85 is perfectly safe, if undesirable if you are a super pro computer numbers person. 90+ is danger zone. edit: Also note by topping out at max I mean 100% all cores for 10-20 mins doing lighting builds. Under normal activity and games it's more like 70-75 max.
  15. Been a little bit since new PC. 100% top out temps are now more like 80. The hottest I've ever seen it get was 83 on one core for half a second. I might get a second fan for this cooler, and/or correct the fan rotation so it exhausts in the direction of air flow, atm it's pushing towards the front of the case while the case fans go front to back, not sure how big of an impact that'll actually make but it might make a difference.
